Daily summaries, display the minimum and maximum temperatures and rainfall on a given date for all automatic and synoptic weather stations across Australia.
There are three ways to see daily summaries for the location of your choice.
- For capital cities, from the homepage, choose any city from the Daily Forecast section to get to the local weather page.
- Click 'Weather' in the main navigation from anywhere on the page and click on city of your choice
- Use the search location lookup field on the top right corner and type in the location of your choice
On the local weather page, you can find Daily Summaries by opening up the 'More Observations' section in the forecast panel.
The minimum temperature for a station is the coldest temperature recorded in the 24 hours to 9am. The maximum temperature is the hottest temperature recorded in the 24 hours after 9am. Rainfall is the cumulative rainfall in millimetres received in the 24 hours to 9am.
Also displayed is the minimum temperature anomaly and maximum temperature anomaly. Anomalies compare the recorded temperatures to the average for the corresponding month. So if Sydney records a maximum temperature of 32 degrees on a January day, that would be an anomaly of +6 since the average maximum temperature for Sydney in January is 26 degrees.
A minimum or maximum temperature highlighted in yellow indicates the possibility of a broken monthly record. You can change the date by clicking the select date link on the top right of screen.

2. Or tap the Search icon on the top right corner and type in the location of your choice
Once on the local weather page, tap the dropdown section called "Observations". This will expand the section and you will be able to see the link to Daily Summaries. Tapping the link will take you to the Daily Summaries page.
You can use the calendar buttons to see summaries for previous months or you can change the date by clicking the select date link on the top of the screen. To view the table data, you can swipe right or left across the screen.
